About Us
Sunshine Coast Kids Therapy is an Early Intervention Paediatric Occupational Therapy service offering assessment and therapy for children experiencing challenges in one or more aspects of development, learning, behaviour, social communication, engagement, movement and everyday living skills. Sunshine Coast Kids Therapy is an early intervention specialist service for babies and children up to age 8.
Our Paediatric Occupational Therapy practice is located in Buderim Meadows, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Children's Occupational Therapy is provided through goal-directed and engaging therapeutic activity.
The clinic holds a great range of high-quality assessments and therapeutic resources including suspended equipment (swings)- a crucial accelerator in therapy for children with sensory processing, motor and self-regulation challenges.
Children are seen in a comfortable, home-like and air conditioned environment.

Barbara is the Director and Lead Therapist at Sunshine Coast Kids Therapy. She is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Barbara graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She went on to train as an Occupational Therapist at post-graduate level at Barts and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry (University of London), gaining a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
Barbara is an early intervention specialist, experienced in treating infants as well as toddlers, preschoolers and primary school aged children. She is a certified provider of Therapeutic Listening and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sensory Integration (SI Practitioner status awarded by Sensory Integration Network UK/University of Southern California). She has extensive post-graduate training relevant to treating children with Autism Spectrum Conditions, as well as complex physical and learning challenges. She has 20 years post qualifying experience, gained both in public service and in private practice in Australia and overseas.
On a personal note, Barbara is also a mum of two and brings to her practice valuable experiences of striving to achieve the best outcomes for the little ones in her life.
