Initial Assessment 1.5 hours:  $290 

Initial Assessment 2 hours: $387

(can be done over two sessions)

Report 1.5 hours: $290

Intervention 45 minutes: $145.50

Intervention 1 hour: $193.99

Funding

We accept children with NDIS plans who are self managed and plan managed.

 

Other clients may be able to access the following Medicare initiatives, as appropriate, via their GP or Paediatrician:

1. Helping Children With Autism (ages 6-15; Paediatrician referral required; rebates available for 4 sessions of assessment and 20 sessions of treatment)

2. Chronic Disease Management Plan (GP referral is required; 5 subsidised sessions per calendar yea)

3. Better Start for Children with Disabilities (20 sessions, up to the age of 15)

Please see relevant websites to confirm current rebate amounts for these care plans. The referral date must be before the session/s you wish to claim for. Please note that reports cannot be claimed.

Our services are covered by most private health insurance funds (depending on your policy- please check with your insurer).

Please note that all interventions require an assessment to be completed first (unless a recent and relevant OT assessment report can be provided)- this is to ensure that best practice intervention can be provided.

 

Services

 

Assessment, advice and Occupational Therapy intervention for:

  • Attention and listening

  • Cognitive (memory, planning, organisation, generating ideas, following instructions)

  • Over-activity 

  • Under-activity 

  • Over-sensitivity to certain sounds, materials of clothing, touch, movement

  • Social communication, interaction and participation

  • Engagement in play (as one of the primary 'occupations' of childhood)

  • Gross motor (coordination, spatial awareness, balance, jumping, climbing)

  • Fine motor (manipulation, grasp, using cutlery, buttons)

  • Pre-writing skills (scissor skills, puzzles, mark-making, shape copying)

  • Handwriting and reading (another primary 'occupation' of childhood for school-aged kids)

  • Feeding and eating e.g. narrow food repertoire, oral sensitivity, difficulty moving food in the mouth and chewing; other oral-motor issues e.g. drooling, teeth brushing

Common conditions seen:

  • Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD / Dyspraxia)

  • Specific Learning Disability- with impairment in writing (Dysgraphia)

  • Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Developmental Delay and Learning Difficulties

  • Genetic disorders and syndromes e.g. Prader-Willi, Williams , Angelman, Kabuki, Microcephaly, Downs, Fragile X, Cornelia de Lange and other

Sunshine Coast Kids Therapy sees children with:

  • An already verified diagnosis

  • Specific areas of weakness, difficulty or difference but who are otherwise developing ‘typically’

  • Difficulties which have not been formally diagnosed (Sunshine Coast Kids Therapy is able to offer 'evidence' to support diagnosis following assessment) or which may not meet the criteria for diagnostic categories
